Pram Service

One of our greatest joys is watching a tiny baby grow into a curious toddler. Or witnessing a small shy person develop amazing confidence as they become at ease with others and take great pleasure in joining in.

Pram Service is the gentlest start for a little soul, introducing them to God and Jesus with stories, songs and play. We have a very simple structure – ringing the bell, singing, taking part in the story, a prayer – and children learn to feel comfortable and secure in it, as well as enjoying the experience in their own inimitable ways! We are very relaxed!

Afterwards we all go into the lovely airy rooms behind the church and have coffee, tea, juice and cake – and it's time for play!

Feedback from parents

Parents tell us they value Pram Service for loads of reasons. Here are some…

  • Because it includes all ages from new-born babies to nursery age children (0–4) each child gains from watching others.
  • That children feel so at home in church that they enjoy and feel part of Sunday worship as well.
  • That it gives children a grounding in God and Jesus in a way that prepares them for school as well as life.
  • The simple structure helps them integrate well when they reach school.
  •  And that it’s a wonderful way to make friends at a time when life can be very chaotic! Many groups have stayed together long after their children grew.

Don't worry if you're a bit late…

Pram Service takes place, comfortably seated on the dais, at 10.15am (flexibly for latecomers, we all know what babies are like!) on the second and fourth Thursdays during term time in church. Do check the monthly newsletter here.
