St Peter’s Prestbury: Communications officer
Are you an experienced Communications officer looking for a flexible part-time role?
This is a new role designed to help promote the work, life and mission of St. Peter’s Prestbury through our various online and printed publications and through other communication activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective delivery of inspiring and engaging communications to our existing church community and to new target audiences.

Hybrid role. Working closely with the Vicar and other key parish personnel including the Parish Administrator, this role can be carried out flexibly from home as long as key weekly targets are met.

We would expect attendance at a monthly staff meeting and regular attendance at church services and events.

Integrated Design. Making full use of our artistic design suppliers (Shift Worship and Hub Church ) Ensuring design themes are coordinated across the different church media and fuller use is made of the available resources. |

Streaming |
YouTube Developing St Peter’s YouTube channel
Website: including worship highlights, special service previews, sermons, interviews, and other worship material on the website
Working with the tech team. To ensure that the material recorded on the stream is appropriate for wider use.

PowerPoint liaising with the Vicar to consolidate existing PP files
Learning how to create PP service files from available Church of England material
Worship Song Software Selecting and installing an appropriate worship software package for Sunday services
Service sheets Liaising with the Vicar and Parish Administrator to put together printed service sheets for special services. |

Social Media |
Facebook & Instagram
Planning, preparing and developing all St Peter’s Facebook and Instagram material
Liaising with key personnel to gather information about upcoming events
Writing suitable copy
Responding in a timely manner to direct messages
Taking photos at church events for use on social media
Being aware of restrictions around sharing of photographic material
Reporting back on social media analytics to help inform future strategy
Staying updated on algorithm changes, platform features, and trends |

Maintaining St Peter’s website - keeping it relevant, accurate and attractive
Developing website and exploring its functionality |

Posters & Banners |
Designing weekly service information posters for exterior noticeboards
Designing and sourcing banners for occasional events and church festivals |

Newsletter and weekly email |
Preparing and sending weekly service reminder email to subscribers
Preparing and sending occasional update emails to subscribers
Gathering material for monthly newsletter from key church personnel and sourcing community information
Selecting and formatting photos |

Noticeboards |
Keeping all church noticeboards (both internal and external) looking relevant and fresh
Ensuring all statutory information is visible (e.g. Safeguarding) |
About you:
Experience in social media management and digital marketing
Experience and skills in branding and communication- including a good sense of design
Strong copywriting, community management, and engagement skills
Digitally literate and willing to explore new software
Evidence of cohesive content creation
Confident using scheduling, analytics, and content planning tools (or willing to learn)
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise
Willing to engage in the worshipping life of St Peter’s
Team player
Able to write content in St Peter’s style
